Who are we?

We are the local chapter of the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW).  A non-profit organization founded in 1919, the CFUW is dedicated to safeguarding and improving the economic, legal, and professional status of Canadian women.  The organization continues to grow and develop, representing 10,500 women in over 125 clubs across Canada.

The CFUW is also part of the International Federation of University women (IFUW), tackling global issues and presenting women from around the world with a common ground on which to meet.

Our local chapter was established in 1988 and has an active, growing membership. We are a dynamic group of women of all ages and backgrounds who enjoy sharing ideas, supporting community programs, and meeting for a variety of social activities.  We also organize fundraising activities in support of programs such as High School Scholarships and the Scientists in School program.

We welcome you to join us and take part in the variety of activities we offer. The only requirement for membership is to be female, 18 years of age or older.

Our meetings are held the first Thursday of every month, 7:30 p.m. at the Kinsmen Heritage Centre, 120 Roberson Drive in Ajax.  New members are always welcome.
